The Journey

A guided grief experience with horses… because grief changes the rhythm of life.

More About The Journey

Whether you are grieving the death of someone you love, the end of a season, or another significant loss, it can be difficult to know what to do with all that grief carries. The Journey offers space to slow down, become present, and move with grief rather than trying to hurry through it.

Through a series of four intentionally paced sessions, you will spend time alongside horses in experiences designed around presence and connection, reflection, and movement. there is no expectation that grief follow a particular timeline — and no pressure to arrive anywhere before you are ready.

Why horses?

Horses invite us into the present moment. They respond to subtle changes in our posture, attention, and emotions — making the formation of relationships with them more deeply embodied. Emerging research on horse-human interaction also suggests that physiological and behavioral attunement can occur between horses and people, giving researchers greater insight into the role of connection and regulation in these interactions.

The horse is not here to fix your grief. It becomes a companion in the process — inviting awareness, honest response, patience, and a different kind of listening.

You do not need horse experience.

Sessions are designed for all types of people, so little to no horse experience is required. You will be guided throughout each session, and experiences are adapted to your comfort and ability.

Grief has a rhythm.

Sessions are intentionally built around rhythm, not rigidity. There is a time for quiet and movement, remembrance and release, solitude and connection. From a biblical understanding, lament and hope are not opposites. Scripture makes room for sorrow while continually reminding us that sorry is not the end of the story. We, too, hold space for both.

So, come as you are. You don’t need to know what to say or how you are feeling. Sometimes just showing up speaks louder than words ever could.
