Meet Us at the Altar.
A place to slow down, find your rhythm, and make room for what God is doing. Horses. Horsemanship. Relationship. Faith.
Services
-
Collaborative equine-assisted experiences designed to complement the work of licensed professionals, organizations, and community leaders. Altar Equestrian can partner on-site or travel to your location, bringing horses and experiential activities into counseling practices, retreats, educational programs, team experiences, and community events.
-
A 10-week introduction to the fundamentals of horsemanship, designed for those who want to build a strong foundation with horses. Instruction includes horse care, grooming, handling, leading, saddling, safety and riding skills — emphasizing communication, confidence, and developing a respectful partnership with the horse.
-
A 10-week course designed to build confidence and developing foundational riding skills, progressing from the walk into trotting and loping, while strengthening balance, communication, control, and partnership with the horse.
-
A 4- to 6-week experiential series designed to create space for slowing down, reconnecting, and becoming more present. Through guided interaction with horses, somatic awareness, reflective practices, and meaningful conversation, you explore themes of connection, boundaries, trust, grief and loss, resilience, and personal growth. No riding experience required.
-
A 4-session guided experience for those carrying grief, trauma, or loss. Through intentional time with horses, movement, reflection, and somatic awareness, we create space to acknowledge what has been lost, listen to what is happening within, and begin moving toward acceptance and renewed connection. Each session builds on the last, honoring that healing is not about forgetting or rushing forward, but learning how to carry your story in a new way.
-
Learn foundational horse care, safe handling, grooming, leading, communication, and groundwork while developing an understanding of how horses think, respond, and connect. As skills and confidence grow, people progress toward independently working with a horse at the farm — no instructor present.
-
A half-day outdoor experience that brings together horses, creative expression, reflection, and safe community. Drawing from the Healing Arts Methodology, people engage with horses from the ground while exploring an intentional art activity. Time around the horses, guided reflection, and meaningful conversation offer an opportunity to gently explore what is happening within. No horse or art experience required. Just an open heart ready to receive.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Charli. Horses have been a part of my story for as long as I can remember, on the back of a little pony named Boo-boo (pictured above) who carried me anywhere I wanted to go. What began as a lifelong love has grown into a passion for sharing what horses can teach us about relationship, communication, trust, presence, and connection.
I created Altar Equestrian because I believe healthy relationships have the power to shape healthy people — and healthy people foster healthy communities. This ministry was birthed out of my own journey and story toward health and wholeness. My hope here is to create spaces where people feel welcomed, challenged, connected, and reminded that they were made for meaningful relationship — with themselves, others, creation, and God.
At its heart, Altar Equestrian is about bringing folks together and creating space for something good to grow.
Experience horses.
Time with horses can teach us something about how we live, relate, and grow. We create intentional experiences rooted in faith, truth, good horsemanship, and relationship.
